MARYLAND CIRCUIT TOURNAMENTS:

The Maryland Circuit Tournaments are open to USATT members and those who join at the event. Novices (no rating) may enter other rating-limited events but may not advance past the round robin. Tournament management may modify, combine, or cancel events based on the number of entries.

New for 2010: USATT raised its rating fee from $5 to $7 in 2009. We did not pass that increase on last year but are forced to in 2010.

***In 2010, Giant Round Robin events will also earn Circuit points that will count towards Circuit prizes at the end of the year.***

  • $27 for entry in one singles event[Includes MdTTA Club fee and USATT Rating Fee]
  • $42 for entry in two singles events
  • $12 for entry in each additional singles event
  • Juniors: $15 for entry in one singles - $12 each additional singles event. Juniors Events free if paying for at least one rated event.
  • There is a maximum of 3 singles events per player on any one day.
You must have a USATT membership or buy one at the tournament. $40 Adult, $100/3yrs,U-18 $20.
MAJOR AWARDS are up for grabs to the players who show the greatest level of achievement over the course of the twelve Maryland Circuit Tournaments in 2008. The top 10 point earners will be given prizes at the end of the year.
SERIES POINTS will be awarded as follows:
Rated Events -- 10,8,6,5,4,3,2,1............(10 pts.for 1st ... 1 pt. for 8th)
OPEN -- 12,10,8,6,4,3,2,1...................(12 pts.for 1st ... 1 pt. for 8th)
Doubles -- 6,4,2,1 (each player)............(6 pts.for 1st ... 1 pt. for 4th)
Juniors U-18 -- 12,10,8,6,4,3,2,1...........(12 pts.for 1st ... 1 pt. for 8th)

MONTHLY GIANT RR:

In addition to the Circuit, roughly every 3rd Saturday of each month there's also a Giant Round Robin Tournament. There are usually 10 players per group, so you can play many matches and have a lot of fun.

MARYLAND CLOSED TOURNAMENT:

July 31, 2010. Open only to residents of Maryland.
Awards will be given in all events for 1st and 2nd place.
All events will begin and end on Saturday May 31st and all events are Round Robins.
Deadline for entries is July 30th!

JOHN VOS MEMORIAL DOUBLES TOURNAMENT:

Jon was a fixture on the Maryland table tennis scene for many years. His love for the game, particularly doubles, was well known throughout Maryland table tennis circles and he frequently participated in regional and national tournaments as well.

DEADLINE:

6 p.m. Friday before the tournament. PLEASE PRE-REGISTER FOR EVENTS!! There will be a $5 surcharge per tournament if you do not pre-register.

NOTES:

  1. All events are round-robin, best 3 of 5 to 11 points, with the two highest in each group advancing to a single elimination final. If there are only 2 groups, then the final is round-robin with carry-overs.
  2. Clothing: No cutoffs, tank tops, or shirts with large lettering/designs. Athletic Shoes must be worn.
  3. Additional Junior categories may be added if such additions are warranted by the entries.
  4. All events will be completed on the same day they are started.
  5. Unrated players may enter and win the novice event or even enter a rating-limited event but are not permitted to advance beyond the round-robin.
  6. Doubles may be single-elimination, depending on the number of entries.
  7. Prizes--Sunday: Events split available prize money 60/40 for first and second place players. Saturday: Trophies are awarded to the first and second place players.
