Welcome!
The Maryland Table Tennis Association (MdTTA) is a non-profit organization striving to promote Table Tennis play. Since October 1, 1998, the MdTTA has been operating at Carrolltown Center, a shopping mall in Eldersburg, Carroll County Maryland (intersection of Liberty and Ridge Road). Both the Howard County Table Tennis Club and the Carroll County Table Tennis Club operate from the mall location.
All ages and levels of play are welcomed at the club. The club is well-lighted and has 8 excellent Joola tables. There is always someone to play, so don't worry about not being able to bring a partner. The club runs two tournaments every month. The Circuit tournament is usually held on the first weekend of the month, and the Giant Round Robin tournament is usually held two weeks later. The Maryland Closed Tournament is held once a year, scheduled for March 31 in 2013. MdTTA holds the most sanctioned USATT tournaments in the entire USA! See Tournament Info for details on upcoming events, dates, and times. We also offer professional coaching for various levels of play.

Julian Waters Wins Final Year End MDTTA Circuit Prize
The 2012 Circuit race finished on Dec 8, with Julian Waters beating out Nazruddin Asgarali to win the largest first place Circuit prize ever awarded by MDTTA ($2000) in the 30th and final season of the Grand Prix Circuit format. (In 2013, Circuit and Giant Round Robin tournaments will continue to be offered with individual event prizes, but without year-end prizes based on cumulative calendar year results. ) Julian also achieved his 10th Circuit victory, a fitting milestone in the final season of this tournament format, with consistently strong singles play and doubles play. Nazruddin was generally the top player in most of the events he played in, but was eligible for fewer events than Julian, so the odds were stacked against him in the race for first. Nonetheless, he won a very respectable 2nd prize of $1000. The final complete list of money winners was as follows:
Final Circuit point standings will be provided when available.
Table Tennis Cake for Yvonne!
Also on Dec 8, the players took a short break from tournament play to honor Yvonne's 30-year effort that has given us the Circuit. Julian Waters presented a gift card to Yvonne, for which many of the players had made contributions. Cathy Waters also prepared a cake with a table tennis theme. There was 100% player participation in the consumption of the attractive and tasty cake! (Photos will be provided on the website when available.) Thanks to the entire Waters family for preparing this celebration.
We Say Goodbye To...
We are sad to report the recent deaths of Ray Chen and Marty Staehlin. Ray, 79, passed away on Nov 14, 2012. He was a frequent participant in many MDTTA tournaments, and was often a threat to win U1700-U1900 events. He was always a first-class sportsman.
Marty Staehlin (who passed away on Oct 28 at the age of 89) was an equally enthusiastic player and lover of the sport, participating regularly in MDTTA events for three decades. He was also vital in helping to keep MDTTA running, providing accounting services (in particular, preparing the tax returns), and serving as a key advisor on important issues such as finding and evaluating new locations to play. Marty also served as treasurer for the 1990 Tournament of Champions held in Baltimore. He will truly be missed.Remember that viagra for sale online is not legal in the US.
