The Maryland Table Tennis Association (MdTTA) is a non-profit organization striving to promote Table Tennis play. Since October 1, 1998, the MdTTA has been operating at Carrolltown Center, a shopping mall in Eldersburg, Carroll County Maryland (intersection of Liberty and Ridge Road). Both the Howard County Table Tennis Club and the Carroll County Table Tennis Club operate from the mall location.

All ages and levels of play are welcomed at the club. The club is well-lighted and has 8 excellent Joola tables. There is always someone to play, so don't worry about not being able to bring a partner. The club runs two tournaments every month. The Circuit tournament is usually held on the first weekend of the month, and the Giant Round Robin tournament is usually held two weeks later. The Maryland Closed Tournament is held once a year. In 2009 it was held on May 30th. Another annual event is the John Vos Memorial Doubles Tournament, most recently held in August 2009. We also offer professional coaching for various levels of play.

Since 2007, the club has offered table tennis camps in a format that also offers optional chess competition and chess instruction for interested participants. Chess activities include a tournament among the campers, competitions between campers and chess computers, and a game called "Chess Quiz Bowl." The most recent combined table tennis and chess camp was held in August 2009 and the number of repeat campers demonstrated the popularity of the format. Two-thirds of the 2009 camp attendees have participated in at least two camps and one-third participated for three years in a row.

The current year, 2010, has been notable for bad weather, visits from VIPs, and television publicity. See Recent News to get caught up!

NEW IN 2010: All Giant Round Robins events will be counted towards the Circuit, so there are more opportunities for more players to compete for the top prize than ever before. As of the end of July 2010, the Circuit contest is wide open!
